1.  Get fit with a comfortable Contact Lens

When you are first fit with contact lenses by your doctor make sure that the contact lenses are comfortable before you decide to purchase them. If a contact lens is uncomfortable to start out with, it will usually gets worse over time. Typically, your Doctor gives you about a week to wear the lenses and see how they fit and if the Contact Lenses feel uncomfortable.   Sometimes the Doctor can change the curvature or the type of an uncomfortable contact lens to provide a better fit  to a more comfortable comfortable lens for you.

2. Clean your hands to remove all debris, oils and chemicals

They say an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.  So, before touching contact lenses you want to make sure that you don't you get anything on your lenses when you place them in your eyes.  The first thing you should do is wash your hands thoroughly and rinse thoroughly to make sure that when you handle your lenses to reduce the chances of an uncomfortable contact lenses feeling when you first put in your contact lenses.  It is best to wash your hands with a simple cleaning soap that not leave a residue or oils or debris that can cause uncomfortable contacts  Do not use a soap with additives like moisturizers, oils, scent or antibacterial chemicals which can cause lens discomfort as well.
